Day 1: Arrival day | Meeting Day

Welcome to Dar es Salaam! Arrive at Julius Nyerere International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. After assistance with arrival formalities, transfer to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy a refreshing drink and towel before settling in. Depending on your arrival time, relax by the pool or join a short, guided excursion along the Indian Ocean coastline. In the evening, your safari host will provide a full briefing of the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Flight to Nyerere National Park

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scenic flight to Nyerere National Park (Selous). From above, admire the labyrinth of rivers and wetlands stretching across the horizon. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive en route to your camp. In the afternoon, embark on a tranquil boat safari on the Rufiji River, where hippos grunt in the shallows, crocodiles bask on sandbanks, and elephants wade through reed-lined channels. Sunset transforms the water into shimmering gold before returning to camp.

Day 3: Full-Day Exploration of Nyerere

Begin the day with a game drive across Nyerere’s diverse landscapes, from open savannah to palm-dotted woodlands. Watch giraffes stretch for acacia leaves, zebras graze in large herds, and lions patrol the floodplains. After lunch, choose between another game drive or a guided walking safari with an armed ranger, where you’ll learn about animal tracks, medicinal plants, and the smaller wonders of the bush. Evenings at camp are magical, with nocturnal calls surrounding you under a star-filled sky.

Day 4: Flight to Ruaha National Park

After breakfast, take a scenic flight to Ruaha National Park, Tanzania’s largest and most untouched wilderness. The aerial views reveal dramatic escarpments and endless miombo woodlands. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge, where the park’s rugged beauty immediately comes to life. Spot elephants under ancient baobabs, kudu browsing in the thickets, and vultures circling above rocky outcrops. The evening concludes with sundowners overlooking the Ruaha River.

Day 5: Full-Day Safari in Ruaha

Rise with the dawn to maximize your chances of seeing Ruaha’s famed predators. The park holds some of the largest lion prides in Africa, alongside leopards and the elusive African wild dog. With its vast elephant population, it’s common to encounter herds moving gracefully across baobab valleys. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing your exploration. Return for dinner under lantern light, with the distant calls of hyenas echoing in the night.

Day 6: Flight to Arusha

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your bush flight to Arusha, gateway to the Northern Safari Circuit. Relax at your lodge nestled within a coffee estate, where you can unwind after your southern safari adventures.

Day 7: Drive to Tarangire National Park

Meet your private guide and drive to Tarangire National Park, a landscape of sweeping grasslands dotted with iconic baobabs. An afternoon game drive introduces you to the park’s highlights: elephant herds cooling off by the river, giraffes striding across the plains, and predators lurking in the tall grasses. Arrive at your tented lodge in time for sunset.

Day 8: Full-Day Game Drive in Tarangire

Spend a full day exploring Tarangire’s habitats. The early morning is ideal for watching elephants silhouetted against the rising sun and predators retreating after a night of hunting. Bird enthusiasts will marvel at the 500+ species found here, from vibrant hornbills to majestic raptors. After a picnic lunch in the park, continue your safari until evening.

Day 9: Drive to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart for the legendary Serengeti National Park, traveling through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands with game viewing along the way. The endless plains unfold before you, teeming with wildebeest, zebras, and predators. Arrive at your camp in time for an evening game drive and a breathtaking Serengeti sunset.

Day 10: Full-Day in Serengeti

Rise early for a full day in the Serengeti. Those who pre-booked a hot air balloon safari will float silently over the plains at sunrise, followed by a champagne bush breakfast. Spend the day following the rhythms of the savannah, from cheetahs sprinting after gazelles to elephants protecting their young. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration thundering across the grasslands. Return to camp for your final Serengeti night under starlit skies.

Day 11: Serengeti | Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, enjoy a last morning drive in the Serengeti before journeying to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and haven for wildlife, including black rhinos, lions, and hippos. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending in the late afternoon. Overnight at a charming lodge in the highlands.

Day 12: Cultural Encounters | Mto wa Mbu Walk | Maasai Village Visit | Return to Arusha

This morning, drive to Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant farming town offering authentic cultural immersion. Stroll through banana plantations, explore bustling markets, and enjoy a local lunch prepared with fresh, seasonal produce. Later, visit a Maasai village, where warriors share insights into their traditions, dances, and herding lifestyle. In the afternoon, return to Arusha for relaxation before your onward journey or optional beach extension in Zanzibar.
