About Kogatende
Located in the northern reaches of Serengeti National Park, Kogatende is one of the most iconic wildlife destinations in Tanzania. It is renowned for being one of the best places to witness the dramatic Mara River crossings during the Great Wildebeest Migration, typically between July and October. During this time, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles risk everything as they cross crocodile-infested waters — a spectacle of raw nature and survival.
Kogatende’s diverse ecosystem also supports thriving populations of big cats, elephants, giraffes, and hippos, offering superb year-round game viewing. The scenic landscapes are dotted with open plains, rocky outcrops, and riverine woodlands, creating a stunning backdrop for unforgettable safari experiences.
Due to its remote location, Kogatende offers a more exclusive and intimate safari, especially when staying in seasonal migration camps that follow the herds.
