3 Days Camping Adventure

Trip Overview

The tour will start 7:00 am, from your hotel in Arusha. This three-day tour, guides you to the base of the volcanic Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai via rocky and occasionally bumpy roads leading to Lake Natron. The landscape, shaped by numerous volcanic eruptions over the years, features rough and undulating terrain formed by solidified lava. This journey offers a diverse and fascinating experience through the semi-desert, frequently characterized by hot and arid conditions.

Full Itinerary

DAY 1 - Driving to Lake Natron / Water Fall

Upon arriving at the camp and enjoying lunch, you will embark on a guided walk with a Maasai to a nearby waterfall. There, a refreshing natural water pool awaits, inviting you for a swim. The natural slide provides an exhilarating experience, while the water dripping from ferns creates a serene atmosphere. You can also indulge in a skin exfoliation treatment using the black volcanic sand found in the pool.

At 6:00 PM, we return to the camp to reflect on the day’s adventures by the fire, accompanied by a delicious dinner.

DAY 2 - Cultural village visit and Lake Natron

In the early morning, enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee. After breakfast, we will visit the cultural village to meet the Maasai and Datoga communities.

We will return to the camp for a hot lunch prepared by our cook.

In the late afternoon, we will visit Lake Natron. Walking barefoot to the flamingo sanctuary, you’ll leave fresh footprints on the lakebed. Observe flamingos up close with Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai in the background. On the way back, collect feathers gently blown by the wind

DAY 3 - Return to Arusha

After waking up, enjoy your final breakfast in the semi-desert. We will then break down our tents and begin our journey back to Arusha, taking an alternate route through the semi-desert to the east.
