Best time to visit:
June to October: Sunny, low humidity, little to no-rain. It’s a safari high season in Tanzania mainland, making it great for a combo trip
December to Mid-March: Hot and sunny with occasional short showers – whale shark’s sightings are more likely on this time near Mnemba and Mafia Island
Day 1: Spice tour – half day
09:00 am, Pick-up from hotel or meeting point. On arrival at “Kizimbani” a local’s spice farms, stroll through the heart of Zanzibar’s countryside and discover why it’s called the Spice Island. This immersive walk weaves through spice plantations rich with the aromas of cinnamon, cardamom, clove, nutmeg, and vanilla. Along the way, sample freshly picked tropical fruits, think green coconut, jackfruit, and starfruit, while learning how these plants are used in traditional Swahili cuisine and medicine. Many guests also enjoy a quick cooking demonstration, or a local lunch prepared with ingredients from the very farm they explored. At 12:00, end of the excursion, depart farm and return to your hotel or visiting restaurants for lunch.
